Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Therapist – PHP/IOP
We are seeking a licensed or license-eligible therapist with experience in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment to join our clinical team. The SUD Therapist will provide individual counseling and clinical support to clients participating in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role focuses on helping individuals develop recovery skills, address underlying behavioral health concerns, and build sustainable sobriety through evidence-based treatment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual therapy sessions for clients receiving PHP and IOP services
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and ongoing evaluations of client progress
Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and relapse prevention strategies
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as clinically appropriate
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory, licensing, and payer requirements
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and collaborate with case managers, medical providers, and other clinical staff
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
Ensure compliance with ethical standards, confidentiality regulations, and program policies
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
Active or license-eligible clinical license in MS (LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LCAS, or equivalent)
Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
Knowledge of ASAM criteria and levels of care
Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
Experience working in PHP, IOP, or outpatient behavioral health settings
Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
Training in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, or trauma-informed care
Familiarity with insurance documentation and utilization review processes
This role operates within a structured behavioral health treatment program providing intensive services to individuals in early recovery. The therapist works closely with a multidisciplinary team to support clients in achieving recovery goals and improving overall functioning.
